What is the Community Listening Project?
The Community Listening Project is an independent local initiative designed to give residents a simple way to share their views, concerns and ideas about their community.
Why has this project been started?
It has been started because many people feel they are not always properly listened to by councils, public services, decision-makers or political representatives.
Is this project political?
No. The project is independent and not linked to any political party. Its purpose is to listen to local people and gather honest community feedback.
Who can take part?
Anyone living, working or spending time in the local community can take part.
What kind of issues can people raise?
People can raise concerns about local services, policing, safety, roads, schools, housing, health services, community facilities, or any issue affecting everyday life.
How will the information be used?
The responses will be reviewed to identify common themes, concerns and priorities. These may then be shared in summary form with relevant local organisations or decision-makers.
Will my answers be anonymous?
Where possible, responses will be treated confidentially and reported as overall themes rather than identifying individuals.
Can I leave detailed comments?
Yes. The project welcomes both simple ratings and written comments so people can explain their views properly.
Is this just for complaints?
No. Positive feedback, ideas, suggestions and examples of what is working well are also welcome.
How can I get involved?
You can complete the survey, share the project with others, suggest questions, volunteer your time, or help promote the project locally.
Can local businesses or organisations support the project?
Yes. Local businesses, groups and organisations may support the project through sponsorship, promotion or practical help.
What happens next?
Once enough responses have been collected, the findings can be reviewed and used to highlight the main issues local people are raising.
